Bryan Harkin
Assistant Coach

A Derry, Northern Ireland native, Bryan Harkin joins the Tufts Men's Soccer coaching staff as an assistant in the fall of 2014.

Harkin arrived in the United States in 1999 on a scholarship to play at Fairfield University (CT) having previously been playing with Liverpool FC youth & reserves while representing  Northern Ireland at various age groups.

As a stand-out performer,  Harkin helped the Fairfield Stags to a conference championship and a regular spot in the national top 25 while earning All-Conference honors in 2001 and 2002 and All-Region laurels in 2002 from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.

He then went on to play for the Cape Cod Crusaders in the USL’s Premier Development League, helping the side win the 2002 national title. Harkin next ventured from New England to the Mid-Atlantic area to become the assistant women’s soccer coach at Mount St. Mary’s University while earning his MBA.

As a player, Harkin continued his professional career as a member of the Crystal Palace Baltimore FC. He was a mainstay in the midfield for the Eagles, making 48 appearances in USL Second Division and Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup matches since 2007. Most recently, Harkin has played for the Wilmington Hammerheads of the USL.

While in Baltimore, Harkin joined Loyola University as a volunteer assistant coach in 2009 helping the Greyhounds win the conference title and earn a bid to the NCAA College Cup. He then rejoined the program for the 2011 season and helped Loyola capture the league title in 2012.

Harkin has also coached the Maryland Olympic Development Program's U-16 squad and recently guided them to the national championship game.


Mark Waterman
Assistant Coach

Mark Waterman is entering his 2nd season at Tufts. He works primarily with attackers, gk, as well as being the video coordinator. Played collegiate soccer at Denison University. He was a three time all-conference player and finished 2nd all time in assists
